The Smartscope M3-2 multipurpose imaging device differes from its predecessing model M3-1 with certain software and illumination related features. The operation of the device remains mainly the same with otoscopic and dermatoscopic modules. However, with ophthalmomscopic module the change is significant: Optomed Smartscope M3-2 enables non-mydriatic eye fundus imaging without the need for dilations drops.
Like the M3-1 model, the new Smartscope M3-2 can be used as a general digital medical camera or as a dedicated inspection instrument with three attachable optics for eye, ear, and skin. The device can be used also for general imaging when no optics are attached. A special light ring module is provided with the device for additional illumination needed for general imaging.
The device enables the documentation of patient data through digital images and videos that can be transferred onto PC and patient database applications via USB connection. This enables easy consultation, accurate first diagnosis and consistent follow-up treatment – all resulting in more efficient and systematic patient care.
